Project Description
While the brief sounded simple enough, it soon revealed many challenges that had never been encountered in the coolroom industry.
- Each door was approx. 4100 high x 2150 wide, with a 75mm PIR Panel as its core, two doors per set, with each door leaf weighing 125Kg
- They had to seal not only against the wall and floor, but also against each other where the doors met. A custom seal was devised for the doors, that could maintain the integrity of the seal without increasing the effort required to close the door
- No project in recent history in Australia has used such a large quantity of doors in a single project. The time line of only 6months to make and install the doors meant that the entire manufacturing process of doors needed to be meticulously planned out and executed.
